12 Hour Lawn Bowling Marathon
The Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club is holding a “12 Hour Lawn Bowling Marathon” to raise funds for Fairview Elementary School for their breakfast/lunch program.
Fairview Elementary School is a K-7-year-old community school with approximately 420 students, reflecting a rich tapestry of ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds. The school offers a breakfast and lunch program to their students but is always in need for more community support to sustain the program.
There are several ways you can support this event:
- Bowling – sign up to bowl on a team and gather sponsors to support you (form in club house)
- Be a sponsor for a bowler
- Be a sponsor for the event
- Help find sponsors to support this event. Monetary and gift in kind donations are welcomed.
- Volunteer to help out at the event
- Invite your family and friends to come out and cheer you on!
Entrance fee is $20 per player. In addition, each player is encouraged to obtain individual sponsors for the event, either family, friends or other members of the club not taking part in the fun filled event.
Teams will be made up of 5 players. You will be playing 2 bowls triples games, you won’t be playing for 12 hours but rather your team will be playing for 12 hours. Who plays when is determined by your team, so lots of flexibility to accommodate players needs. Spares will be available if needed.
There will be refreshments, prizes and other activities during the event.
